LED video walls have become an important part of live event production, from presentation content at corporate conferences to immersive visual environments for concerts and branded events. But not every LED panel is designed for the same application.
J. Thor Productions expanded our LED video wall inventory with INFiLED DB 2.6mm panels, adding a finer-pixel option alongside our existing 3.9mm and 4.8mm LED inventory.
The addition gives our production team another option when designing LED systems for events where viewing distance, content and image detail call for a higher-resolution display.
What Does 2.6mm Pixel Pitch Mean?
Pixel pitch is thge distance between the individul pixels on an LED display, measured in millimeters. Generally, a smaller pixel pitch allow viewers to stand closer to the display while maintaining a detailed image.
With s 2.6mm pixel pitch, the DB2.6 panels are particularly useful for event environment where attendees may be relatively close to the LED wall or where detailed presentation and video content needs to remain clear.
When Does a Finer-Pitch LED Wall Make Sense?
The right LED wall isn't determined by resolution alone. Viewing distance, room size, stage design, content, audience layout and budget all influence which LED systems make sense for an event.
A finer-pitch LED display can be especially useful for:
Corporate general sessions
Conferences and keynote presentations
Product launches
Detailed presentation content
Branded events
Camera and recorded content
Events where attendees are positioned closer to the screen
For events with longer viewing distances or different production requirements, another LED configuration may be the better chhoice. The goal isn't always to use the smallest pixel-pitch, it's to choose the display that fits the event.
