Our Story
From a Garage to Nationwide Event Production
J. Thor Productions began in 2000 with a passion for creating experiences and a belief that great events require both creativity and technical precision.
Founder J. Thor Gogolen's interest in production started years earlier, designing theatrical sets as a teenager. That creativity grew alongside an expertise in audio, video, and lighting and eventually became the foundation for J. Thor Productions.
What began as a garage based operation has grown into an established live event production company with an experienced team, an extensive inventory of professional AV technology and the capability to support events throughout Florida and across the country.
Throughout that growth, the philosophy has remained simple: understand the client's vision, surround it with the right people and technology, and deliver an event everyone involved can be proud of.
It started with a passion
and a garage. Now
it's so much more.

Growth is a milestone.
trust is everything.
Growth and recognition are milestones we're proud of, but our greatest measure of success is the trust clients place in our team event after event.
Our Vision
To create live experiences where creativity, technology, and thoughtful execution work seamlessly together and to be the production partner clients trust to bring their most important events to life.
The People Behind the Production
Great equipment matters. Great people matter more.
Our team includes experienced project managers, technicians, engineers, designers, warehouse professionals and production specialists who understand what it takes to deliver a successful live event. We invest in training, collaboration, and professional development because live production never stands still. Our culture encourages our team to keep learning, share ideas, and solve problems together.
Great events start with great people.
And because the best teams enjoy working together, we make time for company gatherings, volunteer projects, and the occasional river BBQ.
Giving Back to Our Community
Tampa Bay isn't simply where our company is based. It's our home.
J. Thor Productions supports opportunities for our team to give back through volunteer service and our Volunteer Time Off program. Over the years, our team has supported organizations and community initiatives including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, and Keep Pinellas Beautiful.
Whether we're producing an event or volunteering in our community, we believe strong organizations are built by people who are willing to show up and contribute.
