Our Founder - J. Thor Gogolen
In the year 2000, J. Thor Gogolen laid the cornerstone of what would become a pioneering force in live event productions. His passion for event planning dates back to his teen years when he was designing sets for school plays. Combining his experience in audio, video, and lighting, he established a home-based company in his garage.
What started as a humble venture has since blossomed into a thriving business that stands as a testament to our commitment to excellence in event production. J. Thor Gogolen's journey from school play sets to leading a dynamic production company reflects a profound understanding of the industry.

J. Thor Productions has always had a family-oriented culture. We work to create a company culture that sustains a creative workforce and encourages a healthy work-life balance. Our annual BBQ at the river is a big hit and everyone enjoys our after 5's, our Thanksgiving pot luck lunch and Christmas partied because they give us a chance to unwind after a busy season. Our employees have opportunities to attend events, share their work, and take time off to volunteer or learn new skills. And we’re always looking for new people to join our team.
We help our team members grow in their current roles. J. Thor Productions host training luncheons and after hours learning for their employees and freelancers.

Community involvement and volunteering are part of the way we do business. We are committed to making our communities a better place live and work and setting an example for the next generation.
One way we connect as a team and with our community is through our service days. Some of the projects have taken place with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity and Keeping Pinellas Beautiful
You can find out team members serving individually on boards, committees, and volunteering their time to help others. We assist these individuals with the VTO Program.
